-- Nurosym has announced the availability of its CE-marked, non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation device for at-home use, giving people access to wearable VNS without surgery or repeated clinic visits. The announcement is supported by a substantial clinical research programme, including 60+ completed clinical studies and 100+ ongoing clinical studies underway. This research provides the clinical context behind Nurosym's wearable approach to non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation. Nurosym also reports 5M+ user sessions and 150+ research partners, alongside more than 10,000 hours of research and development behind the technology.
The device uses Parasym's proprietary Auricular Vagus Nerve Technology (AVNT), a form of transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS). The vagus nerve carries signals between the brain and organs including the heart, lungs, and gut, and plays a significant role in how the body regulates stress, rest, and recovery.
An earpiece clips onto the tragus, the part of the outer ear just in front of the ear canal where the vagus nerve reaches the skin. It sends gentle electrical pulses through that point using the proprietary AVNT waveform.
Nurosym is non-invasive and designed for use without surgery or a clinic visit. Most people use the device for around 30 minutes, once or twice a day, while working, reading, or watching television, allowing them to continue with ordinary activities during a session.
The device requires no gel to operate and is designed to be used without specialist training. Each kit includes the Nurosym device, an earpiece, a charger, a Quick Start Guide, and a protective case.
