Téo Calvet returns to action this weekend after a two-month summer break, lining up for Buggyra Academy France at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans for the penultimate round of the French Truck Racing Championship.
-- The 25-year-old Frenchman arrives as championship leader, aiming to win and extend his advantage. He also has the chance to become the first driver in the championship to win the Le Mans weekend, decided on points across four races, four years in a row.
Ahead of the weekend, Calvet has 528 points and leads second-placed Thomas Robineau by 30. Jonathan Andre is third with 331. With two rounds remaining, the Buggyra Academy France driver is therefore in a very strong position for the championship fight.
Calvet arrives in top form after Magny-Cours, the last round before the break, where he won all four races. The final race was particularly thrilling, with the victory sealed in the very last corner. The last time he won all four races in a single weekend before Magny-Cours was in 2021 at the Charade circuit.
“Le Mans is finally here. It is one of the best races of the season. After a long summer break, we’re back racing, and I really can’t wait. It’s one of my favorite tracks, and I am quick there,” says the 25-year-old Frenchman.
Le Mans will have an exceptionally packed program, with the European and British Truck Racing championships also running this weekend alongside the French series.
What’s more, Calvet has the chance to make history at Le Mans. Should he earn the most points over all four races this weekend at the Bugatti circuit, he could become the first driver to do so four years in a row. “It could be historic. I hope it will be a truly great weekend. I’m ready and, as always, we’ll be fighting for victory,” Calvet adds.
